Solo performance
sl1kwyib… is a three-day performance during which I perform a knitting
score.
Informed by Luciana Parisi’s and Stamatia Portanova’s concept of “soft thought”, the
performance attempts to draw a connection between the textual language of knitting
pattern instructions and the sequential nature of elementary programming languages. The
score consists of a set of number-theoretic algorithms which I translated into the
knitting instructions from which the title of the piece is derived.
