In the late 1950s, audio engineers developed the plate reverb, a crude electromechanical
device to simulate the reverberant qualities of a large concert hall.
“For David Griesinger” inverts this spatial relationship, turning the device itself into
an instrument by exciting it with resonators and turning it into a feedback system using
the vibrations picked up by a piezo mic resting on its surface.
